I remember the first folder that I ever loved. You read that correctly. I utterly loved a folder. It had a prominent illustration of some sort of large cat on it. I'm guessing it was a cheetah. Or leopard. Well, it had spots, anyway. It was produced by none other than every 8 year old's best friend, Lisa Frank. And in true Lisa Frank style, it was BRIGHT. Seriously, technicolored. Hot pinks and purples, atomic greens, and the most lemony yellows I had ever set my eyes on. I would spend many a Spelling class admiring this amazing folder, instead of dotting my i's.
Even though those colors might just be burnt into my retinas, the one thing I remember the most about that specific school supply was how much happiness it brought me.
Now that I'm (mostly) grown up, I like to remind myself of the things such as the cheetah folder from my school days. I hope that in everything that I design, I can bring even a little bit of that joy to the person who decides to take it home. I truly love what I do, and I hope you can see that in my work.
