Have a lovely weekend! Mine will be hectically filled with big events like birthdays and bridal showers, and then all the preparation that leads to said events. I hope your days are more restful.

I'll just keep telling myself:

virtual vacation :: cruising head gear

Traditionally, I've never been a huge fan cruises. It always evokes images of tourists with fanny packs, over-priced pina coladas, and ill-fitting khaki shorts. However, the older I get and more stressful my life becomes, the idea of getting on a big ol' boat and being shuttled to exotic locales becomes much more appealing. In a week and a half, I will be embarking from Miami in a big 'ol boat, with coordinates plotted for the Caribbean!

Since we booked, I've had these images of myself lounging on white-sand beach, sweet coconut flavored drink in my hand, with a big floppy, glamorous sunhat on my head. So you can imagine I was pleased to discover these hats by Eugenia Kim at Target. I, however, was not pleased when I placed one of the big floppy sunhats on my head and my husband promptly began to laugh at me! Apparently the floppy sun-hat doesn't work on my petite little noggin. So I settled for the Striped Equestrian hat. The little parrot on the front makes me grin every time, and I think it has a beachy vintage glamour to it.

Grand Turk, here I come!

inspired :: Chuck Anderson

I'm super excited today because I have the opportunity to attend a speaking event featuring Chuck Anderson of NoPattern! I've been browsing his work this morning, and am so inspired by everything there. It's all so bright, and glowy and swimming with positive energy. I think my favorite part is his ability to convey so much movement. I am a big fan and am so looking forward to hearing what he has to say.

I've selected my favorite pieces from his website, and here they are in no particular order:

crafty supermarket :: fancy stuff that I bought

To me, one of the best parts of being a vendor in a craft fair was having lots of time to wander around and check out all the other booths. I bought a handful of super cool things, and I thought I'd share the love. Please excuse the two-toned shade photos. I had to catch the natural light while I could after I got off of work. Just imagine that they're all even cuter in person.

These super cute embroidered pieces came from Says You of Frankfort, KY. Says You was manned by the sweetest couple. I really enjoyed talking to them! Check it! It's my initials:When I was checking out the other vendors online, one in particular really caught my eye. That was Felix & Jayne. So I was super thrilled when my booth was assigned across from Cristi, the girl behind the name. She was super friendly, and I was completely blown away with the creativity and craftsmanship of her work. I walked away with this brilliant clutch and awesome wrist cuff.
My Mom got caught up in the spirit, and did a bit of shopping, too. She came back and had these little magnets for me. I think they came from Fabricate, which is a gallery in Cincinnati. Judging by the illustration on the box, I'm guessing the individual seller is "burn the city".
I purchased this bookmark from my partner in crime, Ladybear. This little pirate whale is originally from a greeting card that reads "I want your booty". I kid you not.
I wish I knew the name of the vendor that did this shirt, but unfortunately I don't. If anyone can shed some light on this, please let me know and I'll give credit where it's due. I just LOVE this shirt!

crafty super market :: the big day!

I had so much fun at the Crafty Super Market yesterday! I met so many amazing people, purchased some AWESOME crafty goods, made some excellent connects, oh yeah and I sold some stuff, too. What an amazing experience!

Thanks to everyone who came out to support Yellowberry and LadyBear. It means the world. Also, hello to all the wonderful people I met. It was truly an honor.

Here's a shot of myself and Ladybear (Rachael Smith), standing behind our booths at our very first craft fair.

Yellowberry print materials

I couldn't wait to get home today. This is because I knew I had Yellowberry's business cards waiting for me in the mail when I got there. In addition to that my super-rad cousin, Chris, called me to let me know I could pick up my signage from his sign shop, SelectSigns.

Both turned out just perfect! There's few more things crossed off my Crafty Supermarket To-Do list. Check 'em out!
