quotabili-tee :: cake time!

Today's quotable tee gives a little insight into my weekend. No, I'm not projecting myself as a princess who cares little of the plight of her starving countrymen! I'm referring to this being my birthday weekend! Tomorrow I shall take the plunge into 27! Holy moley, where has the time gone? This is the first birthday I've taken kind of hard. Not sure why. Maybe it's the "late 20's" thing.

However, I don't intend to drown my sorrows in cupcakes or anything. Not unless I go for a good run first, anyway! So tomorrow my friends and I shall party, be light-hearted, and all eat some cake. Happy Birthday to me!

Yellowberry on Monster Bites

The nice ladies over at Monster Bites, Ash & Kimmy, did me the honor of featuring Yellowberry on their awesome blog today! Go see me over there and check out the rest of the site while you're at it. You won't be disappointed!

Anthropologie window displays get fishy

Check out these amazing nautical themed window displays at Anthropologie. Notice the intricate roping and old, weathered bobber thingies and the lifesavers, oh, oh, and the logs made out of rolled CARDBOARD! There might be some really adorable clothes somewhere in there, too.

I found them via Anthro's Facebook page.

I posted some new stuff last night to my shop. Yellowberry is now updated with lots of bright and happy goodies. I also have a handful of items that are ready to go up very soon, so check in later.

Here's just a few pics of the new stuff. I hope you like what you see!
P.S. I now am offering earrings, and cute buttons!

a little bit of notebook glory

A couple of years ago, I would have never imagined that anything I designed would end up in a Target circular. Lo & behold, I get to experience this once or twice a year now! I of course, get pretty giddy when this happens! Check out the purple leopard and blue zig-zag composition books that graced the Target pages last week.

roxy my world

Ever since I was old enough to go to the mall sans parents, I have been an admirer of Roxy. I can remember—armed with birthday money—countless trips to the sale rack spent picking out the perfect deeply discounted Roxy dud. Oddly enough, as I've gotten older and my tastes matured, Roxy seems to have made the journey with me. To me, anyway, they've evolved from a company that produces surfer girl logo tees, to a brand that accurately interprets and creates trends that are edgy, relevant, and understated.

Roxy.com
is most definitely an oft-visited bookmark on my computer. I return time and time again for inspiration with my own personal style as well as my design work. Here are just a few of their items that I am currently drooling over.

quotabili-tee :: be your own shooting star

I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Per usual, mine will be jam-packed. On the agenda this weekend— my friend's roller derby bout, my husband's band has a show, and a little bit of training for my first 5K! Here's a bit of inspiration for everyone who is training, performing and competing this weekend:

Plastic Bullet :: an iPhone app

I'll be the first one to admit it. I have an iPhone addiction. If you leave me alone for even a couple of minutes while you, say, put gas in the car, you'll return to find me in deep concentration, cradling the little device. The cool LED glow illuminating my face. Let's not lie, usually I'm facebooking. That's my other addiction.

Anyway, moving past my social networking hang-ups... I do use my iPhone for some more practical uses. For instance, I occasionally place and receive calls! There are some amazing apps out there, too. I take a lot of photos, and I'm usually not entirely satisfied unless I manipulate them in some way. That's where my favorite photo app comes into play. It's called Plastic Bullet (by Red Giant), and it's as simple as can be.

All you do is select a desired photo from your own library, or take one on the fly, and it does its magic. It takes your boring, everyday photo and filters and saturates and distresses it until it looks like a photo from an old camera—the kind that leaks in all sorts of light! It offers you four random manipulated photos, and if you don't like those, it'll give you even more options. You can find it by going to the iTunes App Store and searching "Plastic Bullet".

Here's a handful of my own shots that were once mundane, but are now magical!

quotabili-tee :: happy 4th of july!

It's almost time for fire-crackers and cook-outs and festivals and fun-happy holiday stuff! I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday weekend! This friday's t-shirt doesn't really feature a quote, more of a strong suggestion. Get out and celebrate! Happy Independence Day, peeps!
